Took some time at a local wildlife museum to write down some plant names that I find to be visually or linguistically beautiful. Here are some of my favorites:

• Yellow Foxtail
• Silver Maple
• Globe thistle
• Scrub oak
• Magnolia

Learning these names kind of feels like learning the names of old ancestors who you have never known but feel deep a connection to. You feel a bit of guilt but mostly excitement. The feeling is intensified when you take the time to read about the particular species. I imagine it would feel wonderful to find a sample of these plants in my local area.... new Sunday afternoon activity acquired
